Dwayne Dunn avoids surgery on injured C6 vertebrae
Injured jockey Dwayne Dunn will be released from hospital on Sunday afternoon and does not require surgery on his fractured C6 vertebrae, following a barrier incident at The Valley on Saturday.
The Victorian Jockeys’ Association reported that doctors from the Royal Melbourne had made the decision not to perform surgery after earlier concerns the veteran rider would need an operation to stailise the injury and require an extended period on the sidelines.
