2021 Jeep Wrangler Willys announced – The West Australian
Brand celebrates 80 years by paying homage to an icon with a limited edition.
Jeep Australia is celebrating 80 years of one of the worlds great 4x4s with the 2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Willys.
It pays homage to the original 1948 Willys Overland CJ-3A, derived from the rugged American World War II military reconnaissance vehicle.
CJ stands for civilian jeep, the first prototype built in the 1940s by Willys-Overland, hence the name (pronounced Will-iss), with the model evolving through at least eight incarnations into the Jeep Wrangler in 1987.
