2011 Queensland floods not just a memory

The town of Grantham was also seriously hit by what then-Premier Anna Bligh described as an “inland tsunami”. Thirty-three deaths were attributed to the floods.
Cr Schrinner said one of his key memories from the time was the Mud Army, a 60,000-strong volunteer force of people both affected and unaffected by the floods who turned out to clean up Brisbane after the torrents of water and mud.
