Regional vacancies tighten as tenants flee CBDs – The Australian Financial Review
Residential vacancies in outer suburbs and regional areas have fallen sharply in July, while CBD landlords struggled to find tenants.

In Brisbane, the vacancy rate remained high at 13 per cent, after a 1 percentage point drop, while Melbourne held steady at 8.8 per cent.
SQM Research managing director Louis Christopher said a recovery was a long way off for the CBD rental markets.
“These levels are still extraordinarily high despite a small monthly drop,” Mr Christopher said.
Rental vacancies in Mornington Peninsula have fallen sharply, in contrast with the rising vacancy rate in inner Melbourne.
