Ten suspected cocaine packages wash up on Queensland island

Ten one-kilogram packages containing a suspicious white powder, which police believe is cocaine, have washed up on the shores of an island off the north Queensland coast.
Passers-by called police on Sunday when they found the packages at high tide on the beach at Ramsay Bay on Hinchinbrook Island, about 120 kilometres north of Townsville.

Detectives are searching the area for any further packages and are awaiting the results of forensic testing of the powder, but police said in a statement they suspect it to be cocaine.
