Olympian and brother on trial over cocaine plot

People on the other ship allegedly dropped 650 kilograms of cocaine in 20-kilogram packages, with Dru Baggaley and Mr Draper accused of fishing them out of the water and into their rigid inflatable boat.

Mr Power told the court a kilogram of cocaine was valued at between $165,000 and $300,000, meaning the alleged haul was worth up to $200 million.

The vessels were being watched by a surveillance aircraft and on the return journey, Australian Defence Vessel Cape Fourcroy spotted them and gave chase.

It would be alleged Dru Baggaley threw packages into the water as Mr Draper sped away from the pursuing naval ship, which called off its chase and retrieved the packages.
