A multi-agency operation has prevented $47 million of cocaine hitting the streets in Australia.
The investigation was launched in 2019, after Australian Border Force officers found blocks of white powder concealed in 188 aluminium ingots from Mexico.
The ensuing joint investigations by Australian Federal Police, NSW Police Force, ABF, NSW Crime Commission, Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission and the US Department of Homeland Security Investigations led to the arrest of five men allegedly connected to the 188 kilograms of cocaine supplied by a Mexican drug cartel.
